To promote the creation of microboards for individuals with disabilities in keeping with the principles of self-worth, dignity, advocacy, person-centered planning, and freedom of choice.

  • To provide training and ongoing assistance to small corporations called “microboards”
  • To provide continued support to the development of member microboards
  • To provide administrative advice, sample documents, organizational charts, and examples of what is needed at each level of development of a microboard
  • To educate interested parties and help member microboards connect with one another, share ideas, and solve problems
  • To organize a variety of local and state wide conferences, workshops, referrals, training, and networking opportunities for the benefit of member microboards
  • To not duplicate services already in existence

  • Focus on needs of an individual (Person Centered Plan) rather than fitting individual to existing services or programs
  • Create a life conducive to living in the community
